And when I say "we" I mean Rob, too! We got up good yesterday morning and did Legs & Back and ARX. Rob said he could definitely tell he had taken several days off, but I think he was glad to be back in it. I love the legs and back tape - and I used my Super-Sonic green band!!! It's really cool to be able to know the weight equivalents of the bands - I'm going to have fun playing with these things.
Today we got up and did Cardio X - Rob said he was more sore today than he was our first week, but he did it, and now we really feel good. It's still hard to look at all the blank spots on last week's chart, but we are recomitting to really staying with the program, and also continuing to do it together. It makes so much difference for both of us - plus it's easier to remain accountable when you have someone who's right there in it with you!
Two weeks from today we will be on a plane!!! :)

We're still here!!!
No, the Byrums haven't fallen off the face of the earth....but we have had several not-so-good days in a row, so we have some catching up to do.
Last week ended GREAT!!! I took a rest day on Thursday and did an all-day field trip with my daughter's class, but then came back strong with Legs & Back and ARX (385 exercises, thank you!) on Friday, Cardio X on Saturday (and I can't believe I'm going to admit this on something that I know Coach Ken is going to read, but I'm not a big Kenpo fan....yes, I said it - I'd rather do plyo!!!), and made up Yoga on Sunday (LOVE the yoga - REALLY loved Demi's picture - I need a beach to do my yoga on, too!). But by Sunday afternoon was not feeling good, and by Monday, was SICK. So Monday, Tuesday and yesterday were all washed out for me. On the upside, I read on the container of my P90X recovery drink that it has 750% of my vitamin C needs, so I've been chugging that and today I feel so much better!!! :) I actually went to my boot camp class this morning, and then ran a few miles (and am now icing a sore right ITB while I type this...), and plan to hit the L&B again tomorrow, and get back on track. After all, it's only a little over 2 weeks until we head to Denver!!! By the way, Coach, we also just got a full set of bands to bring with us - and can we take a blender on the camping trip?!?!?!?
As for Rob, he has not fared so well, and it's because of work. He also did well last week until Friday, but then had to work ALL WEEKEND - that means work all day Friday, on call and up a lot on Friday night; round in the hospital on Saturday morning, come home, take a nap, then on call again Saturday night, and up half the night again; round again on Sunday morning, another nap, and on call AGAIN Sunday night - and up all night that night; round Monday morning, and then finally come home and collapse Monday afternoon. Needless to say, it was not a good working out weekend.... He also somehow got stuck Tuesday night in the virtual ICU, so was up all night again - his body is now totally off timing-wise. He did get a good night's sleep last night, and vows to come home and do something tonight!!! This is hard, because he gets very frustrated - he was really starting to see some results, and now he feels like he's back-tracked. I told him I bet this happens to everyone at some point during the 90 day program - and at least he was actually working, and not sitting around eating cheeseburgers for 5 days!!! Now that would be back-tracking!
So please let him know that he's not alone - I truly love this program, and it's amazing how addicting it is. I was actually sad to not be working out for a few days, but I'm also very thankful to be feeling better. I hope everyone has a great day! Barbara :)

Day 3, week 6 - and I'm changing it up!
I decided to do Core Synergistics today - I also LOVE this one!!! I'm meeting my running group later this morning, and I'll (hopefully) come come and do ARX, but I skipped the Back & Biceps. I guess this is more the "lean" program?
Anyway, I now have the goal of actually being able to do those Dreya rolls without having to put my hands down when I try to stand back up. My favorite move in this workout is the bow-to-boat.
I"m going to try again to write back to people who've stopped in to see us - yesterday for some reason I couldn't post comments. Thanks guys, and have a wonderful healthy day!!! :)

Plyo - round 2 - Rob's turn!
Just to update, Rob is doing the plyo workout right now - send positive thoughts... :)
Week 6, Day 2 -- PLYOMETRICS!!!
Let me just say that I LOVE this workout!!! Even at 5:30 in the morning, I love this workout! And, having done it for a few weeks now, it's getting easier, and I can tell a difference when I go running, too. I'm still not very good at that left-hand pitching thing at the end, though...
We've gotten a little off on scheduling. I've been doing the workouts in the morning, and Rob has been doing them at night, because of his schedule this week. So he will have to come home tonight and hit this - maybe I can get him to post a comment about it when he's done!
Thanks to everyone who's checked in with us! I definitely appreciate the comment about nutrition - that has been a challenge to some extent. Rob actually came home yesterday and said "I don't think I"m eating enough" - so we sent him to work today with a protein bar and other healthy snacks. He certainly does not need to lose weight - this is a man whose weight has not fluctuated up or down more than 7-8 pounds in the almost 19 years that I've known him (can I love him and hate him at the same time?!?!?)! He could actually stand to put on some muscle and gain about 10 pounds. This should do it, right?
We are definitely getting addicted - I've started just waking up around 5:00, even on mornings that we don't have to get up that early. Once you start seeing results, it's very motivating.
Hope everyone has a great day! :)

Ok, we're a little behind here on this P90X blog thing, but we need the support!!! You're probably going to be hearing most from me, because I have a little more free time than Rob does. Anyway, I'm Barbara, and my husband Rob and I got started on P90X through the advice of our very good friends Ken & Alana Price!!! When Rob got Ken's email about the program, he was immediately interested. He works crazy hours, and it's been very hard for him to get to the gym or do any kind of wirkout on a regular basis. He loved the idea of having something he can do at home when his schedule allows, and having Ken follow him was just the extra motivation he needed. Not to mention Ken's before and after pictures..... and add to all this the fact that we'll be travelling out to CO to see the wonderful Price family in June - and Rob wants to look like Ken!!!!! As for me, I'm a stay-at-home mom (yea!!!), sp I have more time to work out, and I had been doing a boot camp thing through the gym we belong to here, and it was fun, but we were coming to the end of the seeion, so Rob asked if I would do P90X with him. Again, some extra motovation, and some extra time for us to spend together - so I said yes.
WOW!!!!! We are now in week 6, and we are loving this thing! I thought I was in pretty good shape, but I could not do more than 1 pull-up, and Rob could only do about 5. He's never really been overweight, but wanted to build some muscle in his upper body, and tighten up his abs. I'm still working on the classic women's area of hips and butt. But we are really seeing some results!!! I have to admit, I like the non-weight lifting workouts best - give me Plyo, Core Synergistics or Yoga any day! Rob is all into the push-ups and pull-ups - although he's definitely getting better at the Yoga. I also ABSolutely LOVE the ab-ripper X workout - up to 375 exercises today!
So today is day 1 of our week 6 - Chest, Shoulders & Triceps. We both did so much better on this one this week - last week was the first time we'd done it, and it always takes (me, at least) doing it once so you know what you're doing before you can really go for it. But you know you've had a good workout when you can barely raise your arms to wash your hair in the shower after it's over.... :)
Looking forward to meeting everyone - Thanks Coach Ken, for motivation us!!!
